MY Beetle in 2020 .... didn't drive it in 2019..
68AutoBug - October 12th, 2020 at 09:32 PM

Well, I still have My 1968 1500 Beetle semi automatic and it goes well... I just drilled out the SVDA distributor vacuum source.... seems it was blocked some how?? I had to redrill the hole... now the Vacuum advance works great.... only took Me... about 7 years to think about the problem.... and how to fix it...lol.... I've just replaced the rear brake linings & brake cylinders and front pads.... I just need to adjust the rear brakes now.... I also have a crack in the windscreen, but I have a new windscreen under My bed.... Now I just need to replace My failing Alternator.... this week.. getting hot in Scone - the Horse capital..

Glad to see you have recovered.

I haven't seen that colourful engine for a while.

Good that period of medical issues has passed Lee and you have the beetle on the mend too.

You would still be getting around in yours Jeff?!

Yogie - October 13th, 2020 at 06:44 AM

Car is still looking great Lee. I hope your medical issues have now been sorted out.

I bet you had a big grin on your face when you finally got behind the wheel again.

Hi Lee,

glad you are on the mend and getting out in the old girl.

My Beetle has only been out once this year. Been a shit of a year for most people re the Corona (Not Toyota  )

Cheers, Kev

68AutoBug - October 16th, 2020 at 08:59 PM

Hi Kev,
Good to see you still have the Great Beetle and are still about....
I had a bad year [amnesia-falls-black outs etc] I was in 7 different ambulances in the one year.... Pacemaker fixed most of the problems...
Now its just old age .. Kev...

All the Best

Great to see your back in the beetle Lee, and good to hear your on the mend. Certainly sounds like a rough year for you.
Your car still looks as good as ever!

My beetle does not get out much these days, it's trapped in the back of the shed by other VW's...
Richard

68AutoBug - October 18th, 2020 at 02:32 AM

That's not too hot for a beetle, but might be for the driver :). I'm glad it is not that hot here!
Mine is on club rego, so only comes out every now and then to turn it over. I do get to drive the type 3 and 411 instead though :)
