my 72 bug
blue_bug - May 5th, 2006 at 12:55 PM

I'm not sure what this attachment thing is for but heres my bug. Its a 72 Beetle, it has no motor or interior as of right now. My interior is in my bedroom, but its TMI interior in black an im going with a couple little accessories, like a Grant GT steering wheel, EMPI short thow shifter with a skull as the knob along with skull door locks an valve stems for my wheels, an i also got racing pedals. For my motor I'm going to use a 1600cc, maybe put dual 35mm carbs, engle 110 cam, empi header with a empi glasspack an 009 kit. Any ideas to add..feel free to give them.

do you guys have any idea how to save pics off these sites? thanks rob.

Volkswagenboy - May 5th, 2006 at 10:42 PM

Florida hey? Ya can kinda tell from the Lincoln parked out front!
Seriosly man, the car is sweet, you keeping the guards white? Also I reckon she'd look nice lowered a tadd just so the wheels fill the guards a bit better, but not low enough for the driveway to become a problem.
Nice to see some international 'Aussie'VeeDubbers!

press Alt + Print Scrn (up above the insert and delete keys).

open up "paint" in "accessories" and just paste the whole screen in by going Ctrl + V.

then just crop the car pic out of the middle.

here's one I prepared earlier

blue_bug - May 5th, 2006 at 11:20 PM

to many pics to load up...so i took the drawings off:lol:

ah, the USA, that explains the reflectors on the tallights, had never seen them before. gotta love the jellybean rims though, suit the car just nice. couls almost do it gasser style with that colour, hute tyres on the back rims and a big rake, little fake gas tank out the front... (or would you put it out the back on a V-dub?)

the reflectors here in USA are a rare item. The rims iI have, I really cant go big on the tires because there 15x4.5inch, but I do got 195/60/15's on it. Oh an the gas tank cap in the front on my bug...thats where my gas really goes ..an it sits high because it has air shocks in the rear, the original owner was gonna make it a baja....an in the pics as you can see i got no interior an also no motor is in it yet.

Anybody know how to tell if my bug is a 1302 model. I always thought they were super beetles.

ctefeh - May 11th, 2006 at 09:40 AM

Blue_bug,
Brain fade on my part....you're right, a 1302 is a flat screen superbug...if it isn't a superbug then it's a standard beetle.......

Also in the USA, those vents near the rear windows were on standard beetles as well...

Easiest way to tell is look at the suspension. If it has struts and coils behind the front wheel, Superbug/1302 (also the spare tyre lies flat). If is has a pair of arms hanging off a double beam and the spare is in an upright position it's a standard.

ssssssorry 'bout that....

Enjoy

its all cool man. :thumb:thumb

blue_bug - May 12th, 2006 at 04:51 PM

Im thinkin of eventually maybe next year when i have it repainted, of gettin the wider fenders for front an rear. then lowering it enough to where my wheels look as though there tucked in...maybe also use the douglas aluminum dish style rims... just an idea what y think....an it will be same colors.

blue_bug - June 23rd, 2006 at 08:47 AM

Hey guys, what do you think of my idea? I have a couple but im just checking on your opinions. :thumb
