I love this thing. Like all of Jeff's cars, photo's do no justice! I had a good look at this one once and couldn't fault it.
-Staggers.

Craig Torrens - May 25th, 2006 at 11:13 PM

The front wheel arches look a lot higher, have these been modified or is it just the angle the photo has been taken?

bugbrained - May 26th, 2006 at 11:31 AM

thanks guys , no craig the wheel arches all rigi didge i layed down to take the pic .

empi - May 26th, 2006 at 04:59 PM

Dunno dude , think the wheel arches are diffrent to the RATCEEBEE.

Measure from top of wheel arch to bonnet

A

Craig Torrens - May 26th, 2006 at 05:19 PM

Just measured my 2 buggies, both were 200mm from top of arch to the top of the side if that is any reference.

68AutoBug - May 26th, 2006 at 05:43 PM

It looks original to Me....
Many have had rust repairs done...
and they just cut away the rusted bits.....

its looks great....

those seats will feel much better than originals...
as the originals were very basic....
same as the steering wheel....

plenty of ground clearance at the front....

What did You do for a muffler?

do the outlets come thru the two holes?

VW supposedly made these as cheap as they could to keep the price low... but they put a non beetle steering wheel and muffler... which seems strange to Me...

anyway, a very rare Volkswagen....
Good to see a few are getting back on the road...
and a different colour... as someone noted...

yeah, mine too...

68, the steering wheel was a Kombi one (I think - maybe a pre-Oval Beetle) and the muffler was also VW - old cylindrical ones from the 50s, but two of them mated one to each set of two cylinders

bugbrained - May 27th, 2006 at 04:01 AM

soon as i get a chance fellas i'll compare the wheel arches to my other cb but it looks the same from memory . hasnt got the original exhaust 68 auto theres a stainless exhaust sytem avaliable made to cb specs bit outta my price range going to try and make one myself to suit the outlets . i have a original cb steering wheel its from a earllie kombi . i want to sorce original seats another steering wheel try and keep it as original as i can , the seats in it seam to suit her though and are quiet comfortiable . thanks for the positive coments guys .will try and post the other cb when i get time .

bugbrained - May 28th, 2006 at 12:25 AM

checked the front guards out and the inner lip is all original i think the reason for the great clearence height is because its running front coil over shocks .

empi - May 28th, 2006 at 12:44 AM

measure it.... the guard that is..

bugbrained - May 28th, 2006 at 08:53 AM

geeze guys whats this the country buggy scrutineering page  im tellin ya its all original in there i had a look put my long neck underneath and checked it out hasnt been altered in any way .maybe its a factory mod they where experimenting with the body and mechanicals throughout country buggy development .

byronbus - May 28th, 2006 at 10:16 AM

Its just that they look different...just wondering???

bugbrained - May 28th, 2006 at 11:03 AM

no probs byronbus i can understand the interest because of the wheel well height on this cb . ive looked at steves pink cb and a few others including the other complete country buggy i have here and i can see a difference . ive checked underneath examined the panel lip and frabrication and its all standard . maybe i have a one off , im stoked in the clearence this countrybuggy has and with the coil overs hold the front up really well . on level ground the buggy sits level to the ground citing difference from front of the sill to the rear .regards jeff

bajachris88 - May 28th, 2006 at 11:09 AM

maybe the pink one is the 'unoriginal' one?

u can't make these things without lookin at jeffs in person. How many times u been decieved in a piccy?

See a beaut bug in one, have a look up close, to see so much more (IE rust and all). same goes for this :D

Regardless of wat it is mate, its gorgeous. hi 5 dude!

bajachris88 - May 28th, 2006 at 02:04 PM

huh?

wats everyone going on about now?

anywho...
jewfish are great, grandpa has some funny stories, about catching huge ones, leaving it in the bath tub in the bath room, grandma walking in to this huge fish... u get hte picture.

anywho, were there ever different series to these country buggies? Different features or styles u could purchase (just like a how a bug can have standard or delux)? Maybe ones an import? if they were anywhere else. There are country buggy replica kits made of metal, maybe that perhaps?

if both original, then there must be different models to the buggies.

bajachris88 - May 28th, 2006 at 02:06 PM

replica model:
