71 Fastback TLE
kombimatt - May 9th, 2007 at 08:41 PM

Hey all,

Came to AVD from KC as we have 3 Kombis. Have been well and truly bitten by the VW disease we have now also added a Type 3 Fastback to our collection.

A '71 Auto Fuel injected model.

It is a 2 owner vehicle. On the outside and inside it looks a little shabby but is basically a solid vehicle - the pan is totally rust free.

Am planning to roadworthy and rego and use it as is after an interior tidy up.

Needing a few bits so if anyone out there is into Type 3's would love some advice or assistance getting parts

Need - Steering wheel, steering box (if these are not as rare a RHP),

Here he is - have let the kids name him so far they have come up with Milo as he is green like a Milo can

Have been foolin around with the Fasty this morning and the original radio says it is a Volkswagen Deluxe. Also has chrome inserts in the window rubbers. Can't wait to get this on the road.

Gotta love a Fasty. You obviously have fabulous taste Matt.

Yeah Fastys are the go.

Mind you have only been into Dubs since Oct 06. But gotta admit I love em all now.

Beetles are cool. My original love was buses but now I'll take anything. Always got my eye out for something cool or original.

Got the Fasty for a steal.

Original colour is called martini olive and is a lot darker than what your fasty looks like now(badly faded) My brothers car started out as a 71 TLE and is now on it's way back to being an EFI engine again albeit with 800 more CC's and a T4 garrett strapped to it!!

That would look superb slammed with some whitewalls!
Nice Fasty!

Oh, and forgot to mention.. i have a late model wheel for you.. if you want it.. can't remember the conditon but i think its pretty good!

kombimatt - May 15th, 2007 at 10:55 PM

Josie,

I think we saw you recently in your Notch (light blue) in Dodges and then Sorell not too long ago.

We were in an orange Kombi and you waved madly at us. We replied with a frenzied wave albeit a bit late you had zoomed past by then.

Would appreciate the new wheel. Our is very dodgy. Fasty is off to Andrew Robinson this week to hopefully run sweet again. Then a few little jobs for rego.

Won't be able to make Sunday as we are busy with 4 kids and sport. Thanks for the offer though.Ed has invited us on a few VW club events but have always had other things on.

Cheers

No probs!
I think i remember seeing you that day.. we were down at Dodges looking at a house.. which was awful lol.
Next time i'm at my mum's (where all my car bits are) i'll have a look at that wheel.. and let you know what its like.

Too bad we won't see you sunday.. maybe next time?
