G'Day from WA
Striyka - February 14th, 2017 at 11:14 PM

Hi all.
Just thought id stop in and introduce myself.
I have just started a Buggy rebuild.
Bought a heap of "junk" 3 years ago and have finally got the BUG to start this journey.
I also started my own franchise business 3 years ago so spare time has been very rare.
I no doubt will have lots of questions but have found a lot of info already on this site.
Thanks all.

Where in WA are you? I'm in the middle of nowhere!!

Just down the road a bit from you Greg, by the beach, in a little settlement called Esperance :tu:

Cool. Been there once. Wasn't fussed. I like Kal because of the lack of water. Go figure. My trade is Aluminium Boat Builder!

Awesome place
Coul;dn't live anywhere other than a coast lol

We have the DeepSea fishing classic next month. Maybe a few of your boats down here?

Nah, not mine! Google Incat Tasmania for the little dinghies I did my time on!

If you need any parts, I've just parted out a 73 Superbeetle and still have some parts left.

Thanks Greg. Will message you when I know what I need.
I have 2 trailors loads of spares in a storage shed and I seem to find something new everytime I go out there lol

Where did you get your parts from? I know of the VeeDub Shop in Ozzy Park. Anywhere else I should be looking in WA?

Honestly, I've found most things locally so far. But I'm always after more!!

Welcome Stryka
That buggy will be so cool for scooting around to all the awesome beaches you have around you.
Can you still drive from Bandy Creek around towards Cape Le Grande on the beach?
Now that would Rock!
Post plenty of picture as you go with your build. There are plenty of people with great knowledge here who can help you.
Good luck
Terry

Thanks Terry
Yes, you can still drive on the Beach. Its 50km by road to get out to Cape Le Grand. Its 23km via the beach.
You wont get a more magnificant stretch of coastline anywhere I reckon. One of my problems will be how and where to mount the Fishing Rod holders :)

I don't know about this week though. With all the rain the creek up near the end may have widened.

Used to get paid to spend 3 nights a month, sometimes more at Lucky Bay and 18 days cruising from Adelaide to Perth and back.
Swim with sea lions at Baird Bay, body surf at Thistle Cove or Hellfire Bay, drink coffee in Denmark.
Someone had to do it, pity about the passengers!
