Can't login
65busser - October 22nd, 2003 at 09:49 PM

Hi guys,
Can't login for some reason. Says "never active", and when I got my new password it wouldn't accept it. Went to get another, but you know the story.
Thanks
Brad

I went to delete a posting a few days ago as the pic didn't come out...
I was told I wasn't allowed to post on this Forum....
I tried a few times then switched off and signed on again.. no problems....

Several times in the past I have gone to the Forum to find I've been rendered "Last active:never." I get a new password and off I go. I never "Log off." I've tried that this time, but I still can't Log in. I can Log in at work though. I can make posts, post pics etc, but have no u2u. I do at work though. How can I check if I have coookies enabled?
I've got no idea.

First things first, what browser are you using? I (and about 94% of all our users) use Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1. If you use the same, you're likely to be more than half way there.

To make sure you can use cookies, double click the little "Internet" globe on the bottom right of your screen, and click "Default level" and then Okay. This resets IE to the default, and cookies are known to work in this configuration.

If you're not using IE 6.0 SP1, here are your choices. If you're using:

IE earlier than 6.0 SP1, go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com  and download IE 6.0 SP1. Once it's installed, go there again, and grab all critical hot fixes

Mozilla earlier than Mozilla 1.5, go to http://www.mozilla.org  and grab Mozilla 1.5.

Netscape earlier than Netscape 7.1, go to http://www.netscape.com  and grab Netscape 7.1 from them

Opera prior to Opera 7.2, go to http://www.opera.com  and grab it from them

Alternatively, Australian Personal Computer have all four browsers on their cover CDs every month. It's much faster than downloading from the Internet site if you're on a modem, and if you pay by the MB, cheaper too. If that's you, head to the newsagents.

If you're a Mac user, grab Safari from Apple.

Andrew,
The other strange thing that might help you work out what's up is that the time of posts is wrong. For example, I just checked today's posts, and the last one was shown as 1.03 PM, and it's actually 11.00PM. My last post "above" is showing as 7.02AM, and it was really posted this afternoon from my computer at work which is OK.
Does that indicate anything?
Cheers
Brad

It indicates you might be in the wrong time zone. Check your regional settings by double clicking the clock on the bottom right of your screen, and choose the Time Zone tab. But also check your time zone in your profile.

Do you use Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Security, or any sort of ad / pop-up blocker? If so you'll need to allow *.aussieveedubbers.com

Also check on your browser if you are getting refreshed pages.

Go to "Tools" at the top of the page

Then "Internet Options"

Then the "General" tab

Click the "settings" button

If it is set to 'check for newer version of pages' - "never" then you can have problems logging in.

I have it set to "always"

Thanks Helbus
That seems to have done it. I hadn't changed anything in there, but her indoors may have. Ahh it's good to be back. Thanks Andrew too.
