Hi

I went for run up to Oberon today, on the way home I popped in to see an old friend and he showed his new baby, not VW but pretty cool.

We both agree the wheels have to go.

Great to see there are still some around...

they were a Big seller in The USA until the book came out..

UNSAFE at ANY SPEED... by Ralph Nader..

I did read somewhere that although a few did catch fire...
it wasn;t in BIG Numbers...
but just the thought of your car catching fire..
PANIC PANIC... and they stopped production...

I believe the air cooling was excellent..
I don't however like the two idler pulleys for the fan belt... lol

He also tried to kill off the Air Cooled rear engined VWs.

could be a new market there Todd, they have quite the following in the states.
. With an adapter plate you wouldn't even have to reverse the ring and pinion because they spin the wrong way to start with. By using the reversed subi it would open up a whole new world of engine options for the corvair crowd.

And you're right lee, the around the corner fan belt is a pig of an idea. I've had mine running for only a few weeks and I'm already sick of adjusting it.
