I don't know much about them (never seen one in the flesh), but I would need some proof on authenticity before shelling out the dough. The wheels and tyres already look sus to me!

The ultimate rat prospect?

Squiz....

I've never seen a RHD kubel before. As it's of Japanese museum origin, I would guess it was done there presumably to get rego. This looks authentic but it's been done over. The wheels are gross-15"??- the roof is wrong & the frame that's holding it up looks like its been replaced with a modern "better" one. The side curtains are also "modernised. I'd be VERY surprised if it's the orig 25hp engine- in view of the of the other mods, it has most likely been put in recently.
Transport? Think a container ieabout $2500 aus last time I looked into it.

For some reason the side gallery of pics didn't load for me.
This car is a REAL dud.
Exhaust treatment is laughable. No blackout lights fr & rear. Door handles & hinges are wrong. Seats are wrong. I was wrong about the roof frame- it's correct but the actual roof is hopeless. The sidecurtains are def wrong.
It gets worse.
The 25hp eng looks like a 40hp with an aftermarket alternator! The dash has been totally corrupted- there is nothing I can see that belongs there. The floor pan is the "best" of all! There should be a pull out choke lever on the tunnel in front of the gear lever (which should be dead straight like the pre '54 beetles). AND is that a master cylinder pushrod I see hiding behind the brake pedal???. All Kubels had mech brakes. Hydraulic brakes didn't appear on VW's till 1953(?). When I saw the low down front end shot it all fell into place. You can easily see the anti-sway bar. I reckon the Kubel body has been lifted & dropped on a 1960"s RHD (Japanese??) beetle pan. I'll bet the tranny has no dropboxes. There followed a very crude conversion of the rest to RHD. If allied troops did the conversion, it must have been 20 years into the occupation!
I would estimate this to be worth $1000US, if that.
