yeah i went and checked it out because my friend is hell keen on a squarback or fasty (air cooled is contagious), it was closed though when we looked so no idea on the price, the thing is a beauty though! type 3 liscence plates, venetians, stone guards, nice and low and interior is amazing!

comrade38 - October 21st, 2009 at 10:17 AM

Had a quick look today, they want $20k for it, although it does appear to be factory black with salt and pepper interior and mostly original empi accessories, also fuel injected. Seems to be in nice nick... don't know if I'd pay $20k for it but it's only worth what someone will pay for it.

Bizarre - October 21st, 2009 at 12:21 PM

What yard is this in??
Might drop in and have a giggle

comrade38 - October 21st, 2009 at 04:45 PM

Motor Gallery 388 Parramatta Road Burwood NSW 2134 up a bit and opposite strathfield car radios.

Flintstones - October 21st, 2009 at 10:31 PM

Passed through after work today and it wasn't there :(
But there was a tough tubbed Mopar in their showroom :spin:

Bizarre - October 27th, 2009 at 11:58 AM

Just had a look at lunch
Is there out the front - Sydney side

VERY original
EMPI everything
Speedwell Sprintstars
Original old spottie on the rear

Top money - but a top car
If some wanted a Type 3 wagon with instant street cred you could do a lot worse

bitemeoz - October 27th, 2009 at 01:35 PM

nice, anyone know where you can get stoneguards for type 3's? after some for the notch.

An immaculate Oval Sits in Crows Nest area - baby blue with the plates OVAL57? Anyone on here?

Bizarre - November 15th, 2009 at 08:26 PM

That type 3 has sold

Holzl did a bit of work on it for the yard for the new owner

1303Steve - November 20th, 2009 at 08:37 AM

Hi

The black Type 3 turned up at our club meeting last night. The owner is trying to find history on the car, I think it must be an interstate car as I've never seen it at shows etc. in Sydney. I suggested to the owner to get on here and post some pictures and ask a few questions.

Steve

I spoke to the car yard when i was there and they said it was a private collection that they were selling

Ollie - January 28th, 2010 at 10:59 PM

Bumpity Bump cause I've been waiting for this thread to move for way too long.

Caught an amazing bug in Lane Cove, Sydney. Looked to be turbo by BOV I could spy through the pop off decking. However could be wrong. White, flatt elephant feet lights at the read, wide as John Candy and Mean as Lucifer. Anyone on here? PLEASE be on here!

Nikos - February 2nd, 2010 at 11:53 AM

I was surprised to see a 54 Cabrio Beetle drive up Majors Bay Rd at Concord on Sunday. Dark brown in colour and looked pretty good for it's age. Happened to catch up with the owner at a cafe. Apparently he also has a 23 window Samba and 58 model 356.

I was speechless.

Nikos.

It was a Victorian Volkomenn job. Might be some more info on the luft.

Bizarre - February 2nd, 2010 at 02:28 PM

You sure??

When i spoke to the yard they said it was all original - and it looked it

It wasnt the smick notch Volkomen one that i am thinking of with the big blower looking air cleaner in the back

squizy - February 2nd, 2010 at 06:52 PM

Nah mate not the notch. Still think it's associated with Volkomenn though.
