Rebuilding Beetle Doors- Is WCM Still the Best
hulbyw - May 25th, 2014 at 08:54 PM

Years ago, West Coast Metric was the stuff to use when replacing rubber seals and aluminium door window trims. Nowadays there are endless choices. Is WCM still up there?

Chris how did you get on here I need replacement rubbers all through my 69

As far as I know, WCM stuff is stocked by Vintage VW in NSW so I am unsure why you would want to pay shipping from the USA. Buying in OZ means you get what you need and if there are any hassles, you can get them sorted. BTW, I have no affiliation with VVW

I used WCM rubbers on my door quarter windows when I painted my bug and they still look brand new after almost 15 years.

I asked around a lot in the US about rubbers and the general consensus is that Wolfsburg west are superior now. Heard many stories about window rubbers being hung in trees for years to see how they age.

I hear very little in the way of WCM and type 3s on the other hand.

Heard wolfsburg is good.

We stock the largest range of Wolfsburg West products in Oz and fit their seals to all of our resto's.
