RH Bends = Bad vibration
landfall - July 1st, 2014 at 04:36 PM

At 80kph on RH bends the front gets up the shakes that nearly tears the steering wheel out of my hands.

Have fitted new shockers (Gas) new 3/4" sway bar, serviced the wheel bearings and checked for excessive play in the ball joints.

All to no avail.

Have not checked wheel alignment.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Any play in the torsion arms into the tubes that house the needle bearings? Mind you these usually cause a 70 kph shimmy on straight operation.

Didn't use an aftermarket pitman arm? I got stung by using a yank one (LHD) and they aren't interchangeable. Just thinking with the phenomenon during right turn operation, whether the individual wheels are turning at appropriate rates.

Front end doesn't feel loose / wonder in any other senarios?

Found the problem.

Shockers were bottomed out, needs lowered shocks.

Car has been lowered using the cut or remove some torsion leaves method we think.

Put a pair of old shocks on the front which have 25mm of downward movement left operational, took it for a drive, vibration gone.

Now looking for suitable shocks.

Any suggestions?
