LEAD ADDITIVE OR NOT?

Hi ,
I Have a 60s beetle with a 1500 motor in it.
I would like to know if i should be using a lead additive in it?
(Valve Saver they call it)
I am putting Premium unleaded petrol in it.
It has not been on the road in a long time but i changed the spark plugs in it and got it running yesterday but there is some backfiring etc and I have been putting lead additive/Valve saver in it also.

has been covered a few time search for fuel additive and make sure to set it to from the beginning

There was an article in the VWMA a while ago, told you all about it.
If its a standard engine, with the original heads, you should use it. If it has hardened valve seats, then your engine is suitable to run unleaded.
