Have got the replacement engine in and have an external oil cooler ready to intall (picures below).
I was wondering if anyone else has installed an external oil cooler and would appreciate any sugestions, thing to watch out for or any feedback on
what works well.
I have seen them all over the place, from on the roof, in the engine bay but most common and most effective are under the floor in the middle of the
van.

With a large cooler like you have, you probably won't need a fan. You just need to watch winter temps aren't too cool, or you may need to
cover it.
I assume you will full flow it? If so, just watch line sizes and bends a little to minimise pressure drop.
Not that I've fitted one myself though.

Hi,
'kombiluva' (Mike Hall) has twin external oil coolers in parallel with his standard one, mounted under the bus.

Just got this one new from a VW spare parts supplier in Adelaide-cost just over $200 which is a bit on the dear side but is top quality.I believe I could have got something from a Jap car at a wrecker but thought better to get a new one.I have a big Type 4 in an Oval Beetle and I am mounting another Type 4 cooler under LHR guard with a duct and a cooling fan.
