Dual carbs on a 1300 6v 67 bug
Dannyboy - May 2nd, 2004 at 11:35 PM

After a little more grunt and a cleaner , new look for the 67 engine bay and am unsure of the best carbs to go for. Not worried about fuel economy , aslong as they are easy to look after and tune. Will be running extractors , bosch blue coil , new dizzy etc. What's good and available? Will fit myself.

Any helps good!

Is your engine single port or twin port?
Not sure that it would gain that much from it unless it is the twin port. If it is single port, probably better to look at increasing capacity to 1641.
Basically there are kadron and weber carbs with a lot of debate over which are better.
Single port manifolds aren't all that common.
Second hand you can get a good set of carbs for $300+ i think.
Generally you need a 009 dizzy.

Hes got a 1300sp right,so yuv got a choice of single port carbs,Kadrons TOO BIG,Weber ICTs or Dellorto FRDs,not many around and if you look overseas there not real cheap either.Looks like your stuffed, but hey im usually wrong so do the opposite.;)
