Heaters - any suggestions?
Daisy-Jane - May 28th, 2004 at 12:25 PM

Snow's on its way and camping out in the kombi is getting a wee bit chilly!
Anybody got any suggestions on heating when parked up?
Friend mentioned a battery-run fan-heater which you could put in the back overnight and then wire-up to the engine to recharge when driving...

Try one of those LPG radiators on top of a small LPG bottle..... I've found that even a gas light is enough to warm up the inside of a kombi. Be aware though, that gas appliances should not be used in an enclosed area, I usually run mine with a window open, then turn it off and shut the window before I settle down for the night.

I find a member of the opposite sex - human species placed in double sleeping bag often helps warm up the kombi.

Remember to make sure fuel tank sender unit is in good order and does not sqeak. :)

Have bought the biggest furriest rug possible, and got the human hotwater bottle so cosy enough overnight but it's the rest of the time! Planning on being in the mountains much of the time so need to dry gear out, etc without gassing ourselves!
