How high can you legally lift the body off the pan.

I did hear 4 in. Is this correct??

The only department of transport info I have seen on lift kits talks about a maximum 2 inch lift kit. However it is really talking about 4WD's where the entire cab gets lifted. A buggy is much different and you could probably get away with more.

However I stuck to 2inch lift on my Baja. There's no point going more than 2 inch anyway.

Oh you mean the body stiffners and spacers that you add between the tub and the floor pan. That isn't a body lift as the pan stays still it is just a spacer to fascilitate the clearance tyres and factory suspension components
