or will it go belly-up like a baygoned cockroach?
My Baja spent the first 3 or 4 years of it's life swingaxle and it was fine. Just drive accordingly, remembering you can't follow the ruts
of tough 4WD's or IRS offroad VW's, and that the handling will try to bite you.
On the beach my baja was fine as a swingaxle. A slightly raised swingaxle will clear the ruts of most 4wd's anyway.
Mine goes good and will do for a while.
Swing axle baja ok offroad?
I went to the Baja 1000 in November 03 and you still see racer's using swing axles. How heavy is a control arm if you don't need it. lol

my first baja was swing axle and i found it to be no problem. it went anywhere you wanted it to go and you just find its limits over time and drive to them.the only problem is taking corners to fast and suddenly learning how to handle a baja on 2 wheels. but you just drive to your limits and it wont give you a problem.

there are still some offroader here in Australia racing with swing axles. some find them stonger than irs but me personally would never go back to swing axle after racing a IRS buggy hence why the swing axle baja we are doing
