Sort of :D

but not really a road registered baja.

Too hard to make a buggy but seeing as you are keeping the body.... i suppose....

give it some new ball joints, as the old ones are a bit fragile from what I have heard.

I'd use the front struts from a 240 volvo or similar to lift the front, and the back would be the same as every other baja conversion.

remember you'll never get the same ground clearance due to the sway bar etc out the front, but I cant think of a real reason it wouldnt get you offroad.

i wouldnt race it in paris-dakar though. :)

A standard fiberglass Baja front won't fit onto a super as the front is a totally different shape... also when You cut the front off the body... this will weaken the body where the struts are mounted onto..
The front end IS the weak point of all supers, with the top of the struts mounted to the body NOT the chassis as on a standard beetle. I could NOT see where a 1302-1303S Baja would work, unless it was used only as a daily driver, and You can get a kit to fit the front...

nah, the section removed from the front is not attached to the pan in any way. Trust me I know, I cut it all out for a radiator conversion.

the glass front guards wont fit so good thats for sure, but you could trim and edge the stock ones, or accept you need to redrill the baja guards and that they will never look right.

or chop up some superbug fibreglass guards.

remember, most people here wont do ANYTHING unless there's a kit for it, and at least 10 other people have already done it. So it doesnt necessarily mean it cannot be done. Hope you find someone that's actually attempted it so you get a straight answer :)

there is a baja kit for supers, but it is very hard to get in australia. You will likely have to import it from the US if they still make them.

A normal Baja kit will not fit at all.

And yes super's are weak, I had one as an offroader / bushbasher and the wheel alignment would go all over the place.

I wouldn't bother if I was you. Sell it and buy a suitable year model.

PS - the green thing in the middle of the photo was my super bush basher. It had a decklid on the front, and a small seat behind the decklid. It was like something out of mad max.
