Is the country buggy/181 stub axle the only way of doing it or does someone make a stub axle to suit?
I'm going to fit reduction boxes to lift the back, so now the front I need to sort out... help!
well you can use adjusters, but the best is the 181 stubs.
Is the front K/link or balljoint ?
If you have a KP front end you can cut the bump stops off and fit adjusters to get good height. You can weld the bump stops back on above the top arm
to stop wheels hitting guards.

for more info
it's a ball joint front end...
then you need 181 spindles and arms.....................................I may have some for sale soon, would you be interested??
Craig, I'm interested, how much you want for the 181 spindles?
MikeM you have u2u
MikeM??? Have the stubs gone already> I would be intereted in being in the queue.
Anyone else got some for sale?
I presume everyone had to order theirs from the US. How rare are they over there? Did they have heaps of 181s?
Interested..
Craig I sent you a u2u as soon as I got yours, yes I would like them if they are going.
I have taken note of all interested parties, will let you all know when they are for sale.
Cheers
tease :P
I notice most places just sell the lower control arms with the spindles, wouldn't I need all 4 front trailing arms??
The top arms are the same as beetle.

thingshop.com have lower arms for US$180 ea and spindles for about the same, each. but I found a few private sellers. just waiting for responses.
mmm so $180x2 for lower arms=$360 US
then $180x2 for stubs=$360 US
so it will cost $720 US or about $1000Aus minimum ,not including the $80 US for delivery !
So about $1100 or $1200 ...............................and I was going to sell my stubs for $600aus with all four arms !!!!! Up goes my price !:thumb
hmmm, so now you are going to turn them around for a quick profit hey. That'll impress the locals.
looking at getting some made. Maybe get them designed to suit beetle lower control arms.
profiting??
Welcome to life.
P.S. I don't remember receiving them fully sand blasted and painted in POR15........... and the couple of hours to do all this should be for FREE
yeah.

It's a free market, you can charge what you like. I'm not arguing that at all.
I think we should end the hi-jack of this thread now.
Craig, if your going to jack the price based on one outlet, then I suspect you may end up stuck with them. :P
thats ok, it makes the set from the UK a much better option. no, i'm not going to tell you where. It also means it's worth my while to bring in a
few more if I can and sell them cheaper too :P
The more you bring in the more people will want them

no love loss here
Here is some free advice on 181 Stuff for those looking at bringing it in ....
It is 30 years old and I get say one in 3 sets which are stuffed beyond use. You do the math...
If you are going to bring it in then get a guy at the other end and pay him to find them and check them out for you. My new guy has rejected a few
sets while getting my latest batch.
Profit on them is bugger all. If I bring in one bad set then I go backwards.
The more the better I reckon..... more 181 stuff means more lifted buggies means more cool buggies .............
