11CAB - February 11th, 2011 at 06:49 AM

Make sure he steers clear of trees this time...... :p

vwsteve - February 11th, 2011 at 07:27 AM

is that the old yellow beast?

looks like phill and nills can compare mods soon

matberry - February 11th, 2011 at 08:11 AM

Plan is to go around trees this time G

Not much of the yellow beast lives on Steve.

This was started as the replacement baja before he crashed the yellow car.....

This is my normal ''tough' street baja style.

I'll try for some new pics today

matberry - February 11th, 2011 at 10:56 PM

matberry - February 23rd, 2011 at 10:04 PM

So....yellow guards?

Try user CP up the top right where you log in/out, there you can edit the signature line

matberry - February 23rd, 2011 at 10:17 PM

OK, here's the bottom.

With this lower chassis rail design we have named the rails 'Phillbars'

They are tied into the front end braces and chassis/body bolts, then pickup both roll cage A and B pillar footplates and finally into the torsion housing at the rear. Very happy with the simple yet stiff design, and Westi, boxcar Willie has left the station!!!

Aussie Dubbin - February 27th, 2011 at 05:02 PM

Sweet tough setup. Nice skills

OZ Towdster - February 27th, 2011 at 06:41 PM

Mat & Phil ,
Don't get me wrong as i'mm lovin your work but the back top corners of the doors and pillars would look a hole lot nicer if the lines flowed through with the radius

Andrew

Ha Ha Ha Andrew...I've been saying that and complaining generally about the lines of the chop since we started the build. We have radiused the rear corners of the cut, you should have seen it before...radius door tops, square edge through the B pillar, radius along the old rear side window, square through the C pillar, radius of the rear .... man O man, the joys of a can opener, and this one was done pretty well !!! I also proposed a cab look alike windscreen frame, but as you can understand, compromises must be made and $$ spent have to be shared around. :grind:

bugboymatt - February 27th, 2011 at 07:50 PM

Just a bit of fabrication hey guys !

Looking good, be good to see the end result. Guessing this gonna be EJ25 powered by ya sig line !
