Ankor wax question

Hi all
I'm about to ankor wax my rat beetle, having never used this stuff I thought I'd try it out on some small parts first so I did the tail light mounts. I just wiped it on with a soft rag it was runny out of the tin and spread out evenly. I checked it about half an hour later and it had turned to a thicker greasy texture, I figured it was drying so I left it for a few hours but it didn't seem to get any dryer so I put them in the sun and it seemed to get runnier.
A couple of days later and it hasn't dried any more so I wiped the excess off one of them with a a rag.
Does ankor wax dry out and if so how long will it take to dry?
If it is going to stay greasy and I wipe off the excess will the coating that's left be enough to protect the car?

You need to brush the Ankor wax on and buff it back, so many people get the application process wrong and don't like the product because it doesn't look right. Buffing will give you an even finish and remove any brush marks.

It will remain tacky and waxy feeling and give you good protection. You don't need much, less is more with Ankor Wax!

Thanks for the help. I wasn't sure if buffing it back would rub too much of it off.

The application process usually puts a bit too much on, so buffing it back gives it a perfect even coverage and nice finish.
