kombi_kid - March 10th, 2004 at 07:15 AM

cheers
rhys

Robo - March 10th, 2004 at 07:27 AM

Ya gotta wonder why they would leave them out in the open. if they are not using them why wouldn't you just sell it when your finished with it and get some money for it before it deteriorates to that sort of condition?
At least some of the parts off these will help get some others back on the road!
Rob...

kombi_kid - March 10th, 2004 at 07:40 AM

mate ya get them oldies that just wont let them go even though they dont use them or whateva just because they like looking at them or ya get the one's that rememis over all the old times in them!!
cheers
rhys

Robo - March 10th, 2004 at 07:52 AM

Your right! Its hard to understand why they do that. I have come across it myself, and both times the vehicals ended up at the tip!

byronbus - March 10th, 2004 at 08:49 AM

You should have seen my panel before the resto was started...that one is perfect :thumb

VWFOOL - March 10th, 2004 at 09:47 AM

i was all up for that panel being the ultimate rat looker, but yes, sadly it is too far gone. but at least it will go into rebuilding the '55, a bus my friend james once owned that has been passed on to rhys.
it is a sad story with both these buses, and the 1 owner '67 bug (with full service history to 1982 still in the glovebox) and the other spare '67 sitting not far away, one day they stopped starting, and the owners just left them where they stopped, didnt even try really to fix the problem. and left them right next to empty sheds too!!! and this is 20 years on, they r still having trouble parting with all this stuff. its a shame really because all these cars were in great condition wen parked, registered and everything.
funny, they refer to the 'blue' one, took me a while to realise wat they were talkign about (the panel used to be blue, i couldnt tell)

Adam_C - March 10th, 2004 at 11:57 AM

id gladly attack the panel, spend a month or 2 fixin the critical rust the\n drive the fuck out of it :D....... slammed ofcourse.....

twoguns - March 10th, 2004 at 01:52 PM

mate. i havent seen the pics of the rusty bits yet. although i can believe you, but it just looks so damn restorable from the pics you have posted. please show me some of the dead bits. you sure we cant rat this and save it. i know of another splitty that is up my way taht is only for parts and would gladly swap it.

kombi_kid - March 11th, 2004 at 06:58 AM

forgot to ask same what are things like the front and rear bumpers like are they there?
cheers
rhys

VWFOOL - March 11th, 2004 at 01:34 PM

VDUBXTC - March 12th, 2004 at 02:32 AM

VWFOOL - March 12th, 2004 at 12:27 PM

Adam_C - March 14th, 2004 at 07:06 PM
