the file must be under 50kbs....if u cant figre it out email the pic to me
Well i shrunk it down to the right size but I am struggling with the rest.Just tell you a bit about this Bug before I send you the photo Anthiron.I
had this Bug in the late seventies and was one of my favourities because of it condition and paint job which I didn't do. I even had a previous owner
aproach me to buy it back in a shopping center car park he spotted it by it's paint job.
It had a factory sunroof which still worked perfectly and didn't leak but when you went arond a corner the driver's door use to fly open because the
door pillar was rusted out and the body use to flex.A friend of mine four year old use to call it the magic car because of the sunroof.
That car took me alot of places and we did alot of things together. When I sold it we had to give it a push and away it went always wonderd what
happend to it. In those days they weren't called rats.
Adrian.
now that's a classic. one of the reasons natural rats are so cool is they have a history. welcome to the forum, adrian
you're gonna have to track that car down now and get an 'after' photo. got any more pics?
G'day Peter
Yes that was a fun car that one.It was a lot more reliable then it looked but most VW'S are. That was one of many VW"S that was a part of my younger
days. From the first 1962 Bug that I bought from a wrecker for $400 with perfect panels and only needed a new diafram in the the fuel pump.
To my four brothers and friends who all had VW's from a 1954 bug my brother use to have to a whole gambit of VW's
like dual cab,transporters,beachbuggies,Kombi's.
This was all in the seventies and mid eighties.
We use to have this 1958 Kombi in the early seventies before booze buses were around and we use to use it as our drinking wagon on friday and saturday
nights where we would all pile in with our drink and head off to some unknown distanation and try to blow up the poor old Kombi along the way and if
we did it was a good excuse to get to gether and rebuild her,We always had plenty of parts or a spare engine somewhere.
Regrettably we did destroy a few VW's along the way as the bug had a tendancy to fall over a bit but they were great off road.I going to have to dig
up some photo's and post them for you guy's and alot have stories to go with them like driving a bug with three wheels for 300k's when the stub
axle snaped where the speedo cable goes through.
Adrian.
yeh welcome that picture is a real kodak moment
welcome.
I suppose it wont be long before someone else asks you
but have you got any old splittys that need to go to a good home ?
ha ha
G'day 56ovaltine
I wish that I could wind the clock back then I would be a real happy camper.Just thinking back in time a bit when We used to do a lot of trail bike
riding and most of us had kombi's to cart our bikes around. Let's see,One Mate had a 1958 model another had a I think about a 62 truck my brother
had a 1500 transporter I had a 65 model kombi.
I going to have to dig some photo's out.It bring's back some good memory's
