$2.63 homebrand baja - April 3rd, 2007 at 09:59 PM

I like the look of the end result, what did you use to get that colour/finish on it? :thumb

kroozzn63 - April 4th, 2007 at 11:12 AM

its a water based paint with metal paricles in it then a rust agent is put on it /sprayed /flicked/dripped and when its rusts to your liking you spray a sealer on it or it will keep rusting , It looks abit coppery in colour in this pics but is more real rust like in the flesh..

ColumBUS - April 4th, 2007 at 11:40 AM

BenettonVW - April 8th, 2007 at 08:15 PM

Man thats awesome. Just wicked mate.

Can you tell us a bit more about the tools or anything else in the process? The progress pics are great and handy too!

The obvious tool there is a file(wood?) but the little set of tools..??

ColumBUS - April 9th, 2007 at 11:19 AM

the little set of tools are wood shavers of some sort. theyre all shaped differently so that it takes a different dig out of the wood/stone/giprock. i used them in art to make a wooden print of a pentagram... teacher wasnt happy.

kroozzn63 - April 9th, 2007 at 11:47 AM

yeah that it and patience and time like that pic of me at 1am in the back yard with the ipod pumping
basicly carve it up paint it or seal it and hang it , hey fish where wer you ,didnt see u at the Nats

ColumBUS - April 9th, 2007 at 01:03 PM

i was in melbourne visiting the rellies dude, was waay too hung over to catch an early flight back for the nats... looks like it was a good time, pity i missed it, but i hadnt seen my grandparents and extended family in quite some time (works a bitch) so i spent the sunday with them in vic instead, flew back in last night...

...back to my original question... WHEN ARE WE HAVING ANOTHER TIKI AND STRIPING NIGHT? I HAVE BEER!

Looks like a light weight building brick, called a "Hebel" Brick.
Very good to shape quickly.

Thats it, get it from Bunnings, its like $7 a block. Buy ome cheap chissels, mallet and a rasp and you're carving. Come along to the tiki carving night at Brendon's warehouse to find out more!
