A mates volksrod
rusty69911 - June 5th, 2009 at 08:47 PM

this thing belongs to a mate of mine, its got a front half chassis from a hilux grafted into it with a 253/trimatic ,home shortened patrol diff with those big ole mickey thompson sportsmans on some tacky 90's style billits that his brother inlaw picked up cheap, the body actually came with the wheels and jus looked too funky to throw out so this was the result, the fenders are unknown origin but were on it, sorry bout the quality of pics, it was night time and a phone cam

That looks like it may have started as this car?? In Perth?
Man I wish I'd have bought it :)
Great to see it wasn't scrapped.

I it might be, although it was not built as well as that one looks and was much less complete and much rustier, but it looks very simular, it was von hitler built by some of the guys from cranksters (I think) and yes it was in Perth, too much of a coinkydink, the orig vw part is the same dark teal blue but the fenders are real rusty an dont look to ever have spats welded on them like that, never have found out what those fenders were off
