I like the steering wheel idea. Interest wheel/tyre combo on the rear too!

Off topic, any more photos of the pinstriping on the type 3?

cool project, looks like a lot of enginering certificates on the way.

Dirtbag - August 15th, 2010 at 02:41 AM

Looking good.

Did you move the steering box so you didn't have to notch the bonnet like I did? If so, good idea.

Love what you are doing and would also like to attempt one, one day (need to finish 1st project, first :-)

Just to confirm, can the beam extension be engineered here in NSW? As I thought this may have been the only hiccup to this type of project.

Keep the photos coming :tu:

RATAFIED - September 29th, 2010 at 07:45 PM

yes it can be done

wonga - October 11th, 2010 at 09:15 PM

Hi there, I have a '64 in the shed which is begging to be rodded, just as your doing. Was the extender local or imported? A mate has a I-beam set up for his, but my budget is a lot smaller than his, and the way you are going about it, you still use vw components, which I like. Awsome project well done.:tu:
