Hi folks,i have a 58 beetle with a 68 dual circuit m/c with disc brakes on the front.Wanting to go discs on the rear as well,will this work with the 68 beetle m/c ?.Yes ,maybe or no
sure it will work. depends alittle on what brakes you already have on the front and what you want to run on the rear of course.
Standard late model dual m/c is 19mm as I recall.
What brakes do you have on the front? and what type are you looking at on the rear? what stud pattern do you have?

Yes the 68 mc will work. I use a 68 mc with T3 fronts and Nissan rear calipers on the race car and I have no problems.
Sorry about the late reply resto, been a busy week. I don't doubt that you can use the 19mm cylinder. (It will give you a long pedal throw) but the
empi cataloge says to use there larger mc.
i am running boxster calipers with 74 stock mc, pedal has feel but same travel as stock, I have a 944 master which I may use if any issues, car stops in about 30meters from 100kph . Everyone told me to go big , but I forgot, ha ha, 68 mc should be fine , but dont listen to us, try it and see, good luck

I run complete early Porsche 944 ventilated discs with single spot calipers all round on a 74 L Bug with a standard MC. Was told I had to use the 944
MC with this combination however braking is absolutely brilliant - very progressive pedal with normal travel and great feel.
Take advice onboard, but at the end of the day stick with the MC you have and see whats its like - you can always upgrade it later. Every setup is
different.
I ran 4 pot RX7 Series IV calipers on the front and Magna single pot rears with the stock MC on my Squareback.... Worked really nicely.

Try what you have 1st. I have Porsche brakes on my 1303 that I previously had on my 1302.
On the 1302 they worked great with a stock MC, on my 1303 with a stock MC they were spongy, I went to 20.64 MC from CSP and now they feel about the
same as when I had them on my 1302 with the stock MC

I was amazed i was sure I would have trouble and need Big master, but fluid dynamics are a different beast, my pedal has less play, is more progressive and work and feel than my 06 golf, hate ABS. Everyone is right if you stop!! So many combos, and VWS are VWS you may need a bigger MC but like most have said try what you have 1st
