This Sunday the 16th of March Kempsey Sporting Car Club is hosting round 1 of the inter club or Tri Series at Cooperabung Hillclimb.
I believe I,ll be the only VW competing unless Glen Torrens makes a late entry.
See you there.

Damn, I have arrange to go skiff racing, or I would be there. Good luck Colin.

If there is no wind and the sailing is cancelled, I may see you late.

No missed Bathurst.
Thanks to all for the positive comments,
and a big thanks to Yokohama for supporting my racing.

Cheers Col

So how did you go ?

colin - March 18th, 2014 at 04:49 PM

Well what an eventfull weekend I had at Cooperabung.
First the racing,
I set up camp on Saturday afternoon and enjoyed a few beers and a nice meal cooked on my campstove, later after a few more ale,s, I listened to my mighty Roosters beat Parra.
Sunday dawned warm with the forecast of a hot 35degree day.
Run number 1, had a look, posted a 30.529 sec
Run number 2, gave it a crack, posted 29.971 but found my rear tyres ( the old Dunlops ) lacking grip. I decided to keep the new Yokohama tyres for later in the year.
Run number 3, tried to hard, went for a Larry late brake and ran wide on the exit of the hairpin posted 30.130 sec
Run number 4, okay big psych up and whoops missed 2nd gear:lol: time 33.761

1st in class and 9th outright 47 cars. noticed as I was packing up a big storm going through the ranges to my west.

Left the track at 3.10pm hoping to be home by 7pm. Unfortunately the storm ripped the trees and folage to pieces up the range and we had to wait 3 times for the emergency services to clear the trees of the road.
The other 3 trees we managed to drag off the road with the help of a dozen or more blokes. Made it home at 10.15pm.

Cheers Col

Pits.

colin - March 18th, 2014 at 04:50 PM

Large tree

colin - March 18th, 2014 at 04:54 PM

Bobcat helped move trees and debris a lot quicker, shame he didn,t follow us up the ranges a little longer. This was tree number 2 of 6.

colin - March 18th, 2014 at 04:57 PM

By the 4th tree we came across we wern,t going to wait for the emergency services, so we dragged this one out of the way ourselves with a truck and drag chain.

That's nuts!!!
Well done on the weekend

beetleboyjeff - March 18th, 2014 at 07:43 PM

The storm was bad enough in Port Macq. - we just got the boats away after sailing - but it did look dark as out to the West, up the range.
