Craig Torrens - August 6th, 2014 at 09:20 AM

Lov'n your 1776 Daimo......it just wants to keep revving !! You need to put a higher rev limiter rotor button in :D

And Matt, your motor just pulls from so low down in the revs.......great torque:tu:

Vids are rough as, cant be bothered editing, still recovering from the week, but nice to have some of the event .

Matty.........well yah it's always a blast hey. Wish I had some footage of the first day before fitting up those borrowed tyres and lifting the front. looked like madness from the hill!
new tyres make the best smoke they say ;)............what else did the hilltop service center achieve? changed plugs on the notch, got it running again several times, tightened some axle nuts, adjusted some brakes and steering box, a seat exchange, some clutch cable shinanigans on mullers. Saw some tappet cover gaskets getting thrown around, pulled Zanellos nudge bar back. Pity Greg ward didn't pop in for a tune up, but it was nice to see the car again. others tensioned their heads up and some loose oil fittings. Got to love the laid back, caring and sharing nature of the VW frats

Craig.....Yep I need a higher rev limiter the thing just winds and winds  bigger venturis make it honk through the top end too. a shifter adjustment to make getting back to second gear a sure thing as well, to be honest it hasn't been touched since Gouldburn in May last year.......just too busy in the lead up to the event. Having said all that, the lil screamer blew me away with its handling, stopping and new found ability to lay the throttle down very very early. To drive a street car at a track and not pinpoint the limit of its ability has me smiling still! its a package deal that I dreamed up as a kid from sitting on the hill watching guys like yourself and Jeff coming sideways onto the straight..........that's all I wanted to do this year :!:

Greg Mackie was great to watch, what a dude!....also Paul Zanello , smart blokes the pair of em:kiss:

Great to catch up with heaps of people that I don't see often enough.

matberry - August 7th, 2014 at 09:12 PM

Daimo, any time you want to scrub some tyres mate, I'm there for ya buddy. :) Oh, and yes those Recaro's are comfy as......
I'm sure we could have helped Greg's little fuel issue too, but hey, there's only so many cars we can work on at any one time ;)

"Got to love the laid back, caring and sharing nature of the VW frats" ABSOLUTELY... that's what I love about Dakdaks, most of us would share anything required to keep our mates racing, just so we can have a damn good race :)

Well said about yourself as a kid too mate, it's bloody special to have a friend like yourself that has put so much time, skill and affort into bulding and maintaining a very awesome ride...sweet as bro ;) thanks for the ride.
