pamberton hillclimb W.A "in car"
cnfabo - November 7th, 2012 at 09:05 AM

this was a first time hillclimb here in WA about 3.5 hours drive south east of perth in karri country, it is the start of one of the targa stages they hold over here.
the track was 1.6kms long..we had a big word of caution that the roa is very slippery due to overnight rain, cold temps and gum on the road but i thought it was okay..
i got 3rd in class with a 1:23.9, honda civic 2nd with a 1:22.4 and 1st to a extremely fast targa prepped AE86/sprinter thing "he was light years ahead ".

i think this was my fastest run.after this run i felt warmed up then it pissed down and the event was canned,oh well....

Engine sounds good Chris!

I would definatley give the 4.375 r&p a go.
I run that in my gearbox and touch wood have never had any issues.

Cheers Col

cnfabo - December 4th, 2012 at 04:29 PM

i got one coming out of a late model 1300....

Craig Torrens - December 4th, 2012 at 10:14 PM

I had one as well....actually I had two, both died with a lot less HP than what you have !!!:D

dangerous - December 5th, 2012 at 05:08 AM

If you can keep the crown wheel in mesh with a decent billet side cover(not a cast one),
it will last a long time.
There are also 3 different tooth forms, but the late bug Gleason one will be fine for your power level.

Craig I had a tightly meshed 4.375 from a late 1300 tranny as my short hillclimb box and I never broke a ring & pinion in 3 seasons of hillclimbing with good hp from my 2842 type-4 engine , a ZF LSD and 11.5" hillclimb slicks ......

I think the 4.375 is the way to go for hillclimbing :tu::tu: and I am about to build another for the blue car
