Data logging
1916baja - December 1st, 2013 at 07:21 AM

So after working with daves buggy now with the lm2 setup to log rpm, a/f, egt and boost.... It's got me thinking more about data logging in my own car. Boosted 2165. I already bought the innovate mtx digital a/f reader wich I can log a/f from but that's it.

I can log boost and rpm with my cb magnaspark digital ignition system so in reality I can log all 3 things I want to log but I can't log them all on the same program therefore I'd imagine trying to cross reference them would be a bit difficult.... I can sell the mtx gauge kit and get the lm2 but I'm after some opinions as to whether its a good idea?? I'm worried the lm2 might be more trouble than its worth after reading about people setting them up on other forums. Daves works great but his whole system is pretty trick compared to mine! Should I just stick with what I have and see how it goes??

Cheers
Mick.

This is the lm2 I'm taking about with a couple of extras I'll need to log rpm and boost.

Or the serious version - get going with what you've got, then tweak and improve from there. Just like everyone else including davobuggy has done.

Hell - once it's going there's no shortage of LM-2's around that can bolt in... including mine.

I just have a brand new never used mtx a/f kit here that wil become used once I weld the bung in and fire it up! I can still sell it as new! I've emailed pat from cb performance regarding the actual data logging capabilities of the magnaspark... I'll see what he says.

It looks like it can log a voltage input, so that may be able to be used as a lambda input? Learn to read your plugs, thats a cheap data logger :D

For those that might run EFI Haltec ecu's have logging function

Techedge !! I am a real big fan, log egts, afr, and other user programmed inputs (tps, map etc...), and has a 5v afr output that will feed the likes of autronic (auto tune etc... ). And it's more accurate than innovate stuff, and the guy who makes them is a local (Aussie)...

Email me Mick - do I have a deal for you !!

Really?.... Always found my Innovate stuff to be very accurate. And it has a number of input and output options.... But we are getting off track... Data logging is what Micks after....

If you want to keep the gear you have, a good date acquisition option is the RaceCapture Pro setup...

I've been thinking about running this if I stay with the Holley.
