VW Warwick 2014 VW Club Challenge
VWMA Editor - June 15th, 2014 at 10:14 AM

Hi All,

I am gauging VW club interest for a new competition at Warwick this year called the VW Club Engine Pull.

Basically, the competition will be to see which VW club team (5 team members maximum) can remove and install an air-cooled engine from a running VW Beetle in the fastest time.

I won't list the specifics yet, but each VW Club will work on the same VW Beetle and the competition will happen over the two days - Saturday practice and Sunday competition.

Cheers
Craig

Very cool idea Craig!!! I'm not in a club but would like to give it a crack.

Im keen Frosty I think we can find 3 more people to form a club

Being a new concept, I'm happy to open it up to teams other than VW Club members if that seems the way to go. I reckon it would be a nice addition to the weekend. Also tossing the idea around of a Herbie Movie night in the Marquee on Friday.

Morgan, not a problem! we just need three others to stand around and watch us, We've got this.

Craig just needs his rear main seal done and he can't be bothered pulling his engine out....! Lol! Just before the first team puts it back in he'll whack that seal in!

VWMA Editor - June 20th, 2014 at 11:28 AM

Main seal, clutch, throw-out bearing….

Record would be in the 4 min mark wouldn't it?

andrewmurphy - June 22nd, 2014 at 08:05 PM

In 2008 the record was set at 1 min 4 seconds. Out, back in and running.
