nbturbo - March 28th, 2004 at 08:10 AM

Don't any of you blokes own a camera???????

OvalGlen - March 28th, 2004 at 09:29 PM

sorry about the lack of pics,
we were too busy chatting.
-
Rod Won the Dial Your own bracket in the
Final Against Mike (Stoker car) .
So the final was the two VW's....1st and 2nd.
Well done Guys.
Mike down in the low 10's at present with heaps of sorting still to come.
Rod bumping on the 9.01 sec but sounding rough, with Big Top end Speed.
Trent Managed to get a licensing pass in but appears to have had some engine difficulties - look forward to seeing it again soon.

shiftyvw - March 29th, 2004 at 09:36 PM

Rods top speed on saturday night was a new PB of 161 mph.
Also won the trophy for best wheelstand! Ill see if I can get some pics. The reason it sounded rough was because the thing was bouncing off the rev limiter most of the runs.

speedster356 - March 30th, 2004 at 09:22 AM

I only had a couple of images, 2 busy talkin and perving.

speedster356 - March 30th, 2004 at 09:23 AM

Whos that in the Orange Tee shirt holding the pole up

Doug Sweetman - March 30th, 2004 at 10:23 AM

holy crap !!! that CV performance car looks the goods !.

Is it a VW based motor in there ? or do I spy a subaru ?

If Rod ran a 9.01 with 161mph, then the car surely has the power to break his 8.96 world record for A Sedan !!! only a matter of time and tuning I guess.

That's the Vintage Vee Dub Supplies resident pole dancer just prior to him going into his routine.
He didn't get many $5 notes stuffed down his jocks that's for sure.

Has the guy got a webpage?

-Cam

vw54 - March 30th, 2004 at 06:29 PM

Yep thats Trents car,,, looks nice still has to be sorted and i mean sorted...

lots of work and experience to be learnt there.

Put it this way his first run was S L O W

Doug Rod held the world record a few years ago... check out yr old editions of Hot VWs... drag records.

Doug Sweetman - March 30th, 2004 at 07:27 PM

doh, get with the times eh ? hee hee oops

I'll ask again - does anyone know if that is a VW motor or a suby in the grey car ?

Cam - March 30th, 2004 at 07:42 PM

slow... We talking 13's?
Must be a pain to set up cars like that. The hook up would be a pain to get right.

ditto... Whats the motor. Spec, etc..?

$60000 on the motor and it ran SLOW, holly shit you would be pretty pissed off !

speedster356 - March 30th, 2004 at 09:38 PM

The car did a launch and poped something in the engine, think it may have been a turbo pipe cracked? Didn't get more than 100' with a roll, first day on the track so that isn't unusual.
BUT I think it might be running this Wednesday night at the street drags so I'm going to have a look. It's powered not by VW but by Pauter(sp). This car looks the goods.

shiftyvw - March 30th, 2004 at 10:31 PM

here's a pic of trents car, absolutly immaculate race car, needs some sorting, but he only finished it on saturday apparently. It had a backfire and blew up the plenum on launch first run. Should be at nationals though.

speedster356 - April 1st, 2004 at 07:42 AM

Went out to the drags last night hoping that the CV car would be there, but he must be saving his licensing runs up for the nationals.
Rigoli did an 8.9 in the Subadoo.
I hope that we are better behaved at the nationals than last night.........one wheel burnouts that cross the tree, staging the rear wheels!!!, not staging far enough up. It all wastes lots of time.:thumb

Doug Sweetman - April 1st, 2004 at 02:44 PM

woo hoo !!!! finally some one brought a pauter big block into Australia !!!!!

Does Trent have a website ? or does anyone know the specs ? I've heard that the Pauter motors can go out to 3.6 liters capacity - with the right injection and turbo, that equals HUGE power !!!!!

fullnoise - April 2nd, 2004 at 08:28 AM

That CV Performance drag car does it for me.

I love to see well turned out race cars.

My kind of colour too.

I hope it's at the Nationals. I'd like to see some of the engineering and workmanship.

CYA, CT

P.S As for the guy in the Orange shirt. I think the pole is holding him up. Dave I just entered the drags for Jak and I.

Yeppers :D I think there are a couple of 3.6's getting around the US.
Imagine a 3.6 in your street beetle. Ofcourse, the lack of cooling fins on the heads and barrels might be abit of a hurdle :(

Doug Sweetman - April 7th, 2004 at 10:08 AM

yeah, although I'm sure if you asked nicely, pauter would do you a set of water cooled heads and barrels with fins.........

would be Very Torquey !

Cam - April 7th, 2004 at 10:34 AM

mm... yes asking nicely ($$$) can get you anything if your willing to be persistant enough.

Doug Sweetman - April 7th, 2004 at 03:07 PM

yep, throw a bucket full of $$$ at people and I guess you can get some surprising results......

vw54 - April 7th, 2004 at 05:04 PM

So Glenn when are you going to have a run on the Drag Strip...

OvalGlen - April 7th, 2004 at 07:41 PM
