UNDER the seats? Surely not facing upwards trying to direct sound through the seat material and your bum? Plus boxes would be in the way, and please don't tell me you're going to drill holes through the floorpan to fit them. And what if you need to take out your passenger seat to carry extra load one day?

Why not just fit 10cm speakers into the back seat kick panels, between the seat bottom and floor, one on each side? Plenty of room on the passenger side, and a flat speaker will fit in front of the battery on the drivers' side. They point forwards so you'll get good sound, and they're out of the way. You can even make new kick panels out of 5mm MDF if you don't want to ruin your original VW ones.

Or mount them in your doors.

Dont cut into your nice door panels...

Buy front kick panels for the speakers like this...

Or go even cheaper by modifying "car door speaker enclosures" from sumwhere lyk SuperCheap Autos to fit in the same position as the kick panels would, can look pretty good, and doesnt take up foot room =D

I installed front speakers and they sound fantastic as long as you sound proof them

If its subs then they'll go under the seat great, anything with a higher tone wouldn't be any good.

I plan to run 2 x 10 inch subs under the rear bench seat, i rekon the ladies will love it :dork::tu:

Another great spot is those card panels that are under the rear seat closing the space between the rear seat and the pan, facing the front of the vehicle into the interior? know what i mean? i had 2 x 6 inch speakers mounted there and didnt' get in the way of anyones feet, + there was plenty of room and they fitted great. awesome spot. Could even have a 2inch tweeter at each corner or sumfin. Easy to carve into as well.
