Battery life
Bizarre - July 10th, 2016 at 02:09 PM

Any one have an idea what battery life is in a new(ish) VW?

I have a 2011 Polo GTi and somehow I managed to leave the lights on the other day. Long story - yes I know there is a buzzer

Anyway - when the battery goes low voltage my Kufatech bluetooth thing stops working and cost $140 to get it going again

It is the 2nd time it happened
I had a VW fault where they had the car for a week (DSG clutch replacement) and it stopped.
Because it wasnt VW installed, same same device, they wouldnt get it going

So - if battery live is 5 - 6 years I may as well get a new battery and try and by pass the Kufatech issue??

Batteries only last around 3-4yrs depending on use. So yes replace it.

Good batteries last about 5-7 years. Once a battery has gone flat it can permanently damage it, even if it was a new battery.

I have just had a battery issue with my Ford ute. It was built September 2008 and I bought it December 08- it still has the original battery in it. I have been expecting it to fail for the last couple of winters. Two weeks ago it failed and bought all kinds of strange icons on the screen.I didn't have a jumper battery, so gave it a quick charge and it started. Went to the local Caterpillar place to get another(left it running) and they had to order 1 in for next day. Went home and gave it a good charge. Well the new battery and jumper leads are still in the back and it still spins over fast each morning.
