Are NB wheels the same as Mk5 Golf??

ie 100PCD??

What ET should i be looking for??

Have seen some Audi wheels on a Caddy that looked the goods

XXX-1.8T - March 17th, 2009 at 11:02 AM

beetle are same as TT/S3 or Mk4 golf 5 x 100 :)

Bizarre - March 17th, 2009 at 01:27 PM

So you reckon the offset of a set of TT would work??

Bizarre - March 17th, 2009 at 01:43 PM

Costa

Seen TT wheels in 16" and 17" x 7.5"

Any idea what the 16" width would be??
ET forr either??

XXX-1.8T - March 17th, 2009 at 08:21 PM

The offset of TT would match it perfectly.

I think the 16's are 16 x 7

ET would be the same i'd go the 17's!

any one ever heard of this place??

Doing a 16" copy of the TT with rubber for $750 a set??

The car i am getting comes with 16" 205/55
So i am right-ish for rubber

Then again that is the size for my betle as well - so 17's could be the go

ang3lsholocaust - March 18th, 2009 at 01:53 PM

When does your wife get the new beetle barry??

jess:smilegrin:

blutopless2 - March 18th, 2009 at 02:27 PM

offset depends upon the year.
if you are looking new then it has changed from previous years.
if possible i would definitely try them on the car before buying... as we found out that VW offset for new beetles really limits the wheels you can put on.
think up until 2004 model they were a +38 then went to a +35.
but check with VW dealership with the VIN # and they will be able to tell you what the offset is.

I think you may find that golf V are 5x112
same as T3, T4, and Passat
golf IV rims will not fit.
Caddy and Polo are 5x100
older Polo and golf 1, 2, and 3 are 4x100

golf IV rims dont fit on a golf v
just to make it easy for you,
golf 4 rims don't fit on a golf 5

VDUBXTC - March 21st, 2009 at 08:50 AM

OK. Now I'm getting confused.
Are you saying Costa is correct that the golf 4 rims will fit the new beetle because they won't fit on a golf 5
or are you saying neither golf 4 or 5 will fit the beetle because they are both different.

I believe Costa is saying that the golf 4 mags will fit a NB, but the golf 5 wheels will not?

Yes correct!

Golf IV, NB, A3, S3, and TT = 5 x 100

Golf V = 5 x 112

vwtyp2 - March 21st, 2009 at 08:01 PM

OK,
what Bizarre originally asked is "are NB rims same as Golf V". Iassumed he wanted to put some NB rims on a Golf V.
My reply was that "Golf IV rims will not fit". Meaning that Golf IV rims will not fit a Golf V

clear as mud. :dork:

XXX-1.8T - March 22nd, 2009 at 07:40 PM

ok excellent glad we got that sorted so Baz what wheels did you end up getting?

BTW i got some 18" S3 wheels - 5 x 112 that im selling soon so these would suit golf 5 as the new S3 is same stud pattern as golf 5 :)

Bizarre - March 22nd, 2009 at 08:42 PM

OK - to clarify things
I need 5 x100 for a NB that the wife is getting

Just waiting at the moment
