who has the fastest dub in this forum
kevo - August 3rd, 2006 at 10:05 PM

just curious thats all,

reub - August 3rd, 2006 at 10:36 PM

don't open this can of worms dude.....you'll get the whole, but it's gotta be aircooled to be a dub, or have original chassis....or a whole host of other replies....

Think Dangerous (dave butler) has the best signature on the forum....Go the Volksies! Whatever the engine! (mind you, not sure if he means what ever the 'aircooled' engine...:starhit:

VWCOOL - August 3rd, 2006 at 11:16 PM

squizy - August 3rd, 2006 at 11:23 PM

Legal or not legal?

bails - August 4th, 2006 at 12:02 AM

butidontunderstand - August 4th, 2006 at 12:47 AM

hellbugged - August 4th, 2006 at 06:43 AM

actual or theoretical......

71superbug - August 4th, 2006 at 10:08 AM

how about we have two answers to get rid of the question of aircooled or not..could format it something like this

Fastest aircooled volkswagen automobile : (post time here)

Fastest non aircooled volkswagen automobile : (post time here) (in a straight line we are talking and over the 1/4 mile.

simple enough for yas ? :)

Anthony

Doug Sweetman - August 4th, 2006 at 10:44 AM

Search for the Top 50 Aussieveedubbers Drag Times post, that has a bunch of peoples 1/4 mile times in it.

For me, it would be Mr Penrose with his 8.96 or the pommy guy Automanics, who runs a Razor ghia in the 8's as well.

Forgive me if I'm wrong Dave, I cant recall how quick your blown car was ??

By the way, I'm just guessing here, and my opinions are not official !

crewcabconnection - August 14th, 2006 at 05:33 PM

kombikim - August 14th, 2006 at 05:59 PM

is that available cupboard space left over ? or total volume of cupboard space? house garage or Kombi, or all?

ColumBUS - August 14th, 2006 at 07:10 PM

columbus - 0-100 in 20 seconds
stock 1800, running a bit shitty. tuned by volkshaven, thrashed by fish

Volkswagenboy - August 14th, 2006 at 07:25 PM

Tuned by Me

Fast enough for now, but she only does about 135-140 kph max.

Joel - August 14th, 2006 at 07:44 PM

on a standard 1600 thats pretty good
altho 14" rims make the speedo read abit faster
i;ve clocked my Lbug once
oil light so bit over 160 on cut springs so im not sure how i didnt die LOL
wont be doing that again

-Joel

Joel - August 14th, 2006 at 07:58 PM

i knew this photo was buried somewhere on the hard drive
trust me ppl VWs are not safe at these speeds specially on cut springs LOL
i only tried it coz it was 5:30am and i was the only car on the road so i'd only kill me:o

14 inch rims with higher profile tyres makes it all even.

Joel - August 14th, 2006 at 08:06 PM

mine read about 5km/h fast with 185/70 on
they're bout 1" smaller than stock 165 15"s
so anything bigger shouldnt make much diff

-Joel

bajachris88 - August 14th, 2006 at 08:26 PM

lol, maxing out ur speedo with speed over 160kms in a dangerous dub with only one hand on the wheel! GOOD ON YA MATE! :)

Hmm, might be dave, dunno, but he knows his engine stuff. saw his ute few weeks back, asked him bout his tray-full of V8 cranks, he must work with alot of VERY nice engines :P

bugeyedbabe - August 14th, 2006 at 08:47 PM

ahh...joel...now i know why there was the game of 'tag, ur it' going on, on the trip down to valla...

100 to zero in 1 second flat = "ARRHHH FAAArK!'

was funny to watch from my car though....:D

btw...like all good vw's ur speedo was broken and the needle was stuck...u weren't really going that fast..not really...(pst, u know there are coppers on here right??)

bugeyedbabe - August 14th, 2006 at 08:49 PM

and edith can go ZOOM ZOOM fast...she pops her pressure valve when she does...but she can...

i just love her too much to push her that hard...:kiss..

Joel - August 15th, 2006 at 12:09 PM

i had the big time shits with the bug that morning
i'm a shocker for taking aggression out on cars when im pissed off
thought it would make a good kodak moment tho LOL
luckily i've grown up abit since then and dont drive like a f--khead anymore
ok yes i did wind her up to pass u all to get that video on the way down to valla but she needed her legs stretched LOL

20 seconds ZOMG!!! :duh

That all of a sudden makes me feel a heluvalot better about how Buttercup hauls (or doesnt)! :bounce

The big yellow loaf of bread manages about 15 seconds... that's with a stock, prolly worn out, never tuned since before i had it twin-carb 2L with badly adjusted valves, and an 010 ( 2L) gearbox with a ratted input shaft bearing, driving thru 185/70 tyres on 14" rims... oh and that is also with an ass end stuffed with marine ply cupboards, foldout bed, stove, fridge, water tank, 2 spare tyres and a whole heap of spare bits... with a nice poptop to kill the aerodynamics!

Vroooooooooooooom

Schmoburger - August 21st, 2006 at 11:08 PM

Lucky b*****!....If I tried to drag mine the clutch would possibly disintegrate, chances are the conrods would snap, and more than likely the gearbox fall to pieces hehehe

Hey wait a tick, scoobydoos don't count.. cheating swine you are, Mr "I like shifting into 2nd at 6000rpm"!!! :P :puke
