GT3 Silencer Now With PiCs
vw_carrera - October 5th, 2004 at 10:02 PM

Came off a Perilli Porsche Cup car from the 2000 Albert Park Grand Prix, photos will be coming soon, has an awesome story with it, absolute work of art and would look great hanging off the back of a Volksy!!!

This may go against forum policies but I cannot put a price on it so any reasonable offers considered.

so what is the story behind it? and whats irt worth?
M

vw_carrera - October 7th, 2004 at 09:31 PM

Its worth what someone is willing to pay but would you beleive it's priced at around $2000 brand new!!!
It is part of the exhaust from a 996 Carrera GT3 which was on a Pirelli Porsche Cup racer which had spun off the track and has been bent slightly. Obviuosly these guy's would never use anything but perfect parts on their race cars with the budget they are on and it was given to me by the driver, it was just an episode getting to keep it from the F1 officials! It is a stainless steel work of art that I was going to bolt on the back of my fasty but as I have sold it I have nothing to bolt it on to.

Cam - October 7th, 2004 at 10:22 PM

Hey Sash, how were you planning to mount it on your fasty? can imagine it would be abit of a headache to get sorted, particularly with the long tailpipe at the end.
Also, do you know if it would silence the motor enough for road use?

Cheers,
Cam

karmen - October 7th, 2004 at 10:31 PM

what is the flange PCD and the lenght of whole unit and the O D of the muffler please?

e-mail also please

restocal - October 8th, 2004 at 08:14 AM

It would be good to photograph the muffler next to a coke can or something to get an idea of its size.

I doubt it would fit under the bum of a bug.

BTW what is the significance of 56 astro's maltese cross? Do you do upholstery?

vw_carrera - October 8th, 2004 at 08:11 PM

Gentlemen,

I will try to put up more photos (:cussing Macs).
The flange will bolt to the common garden variety 4 into one extactor with suprisingly minor mods. As for its length, it will hang just beautifully out (within the body) of whichever side you choose!

Will the noise be legal???

Ha!

I've ran a few dub motors with a pissy motorbike muffler... No worries! Anything air cooled can have a high decibel rating which the majority of you guy's would probably know the exact rating!
