CB on Ebay - Not Mine...
BrisDubba - October 18th, 2007 at 02:48 PM

Saw this on ebay and thought someone might be interested - seems a tad expensive for what it is but to someone it might be worth it..

This would be Ponybeetle's car as pictured in another topic..

I note this car is not on Bill Moore's THE AUSTRALIA COUNTRY BUGGY REGISTER, at least in a way that is identifiable by KO number. I'm wondering why not?
Anyone personally familiar with this car?
I looks a little rough, but generally in pretty fair shape I would say.

The Register needs update...

The CB in the eBay Australia listing is a "Classified Ad".
There's no bidding, cointrary to what one typically finds on eBay.
That means the listed price is the sales price, period.
Check out the "Classified Ad" explanation page:
http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/buy/buyer-ads.html

The listing is for 28 days.
25 days 12 hours remaining.
Listiing ends November,13, 2007

3,500.00 AUD = 3,136.79 USD at this morning's exchange rate.
That doesn't seem too bad to me even without seats or a motor based on some of the pics I've seen around the AVD site and on the net on CB's that are still out there and available for sale.

Steve

I think its cheap at that price...............................how many are actually running or close to driveable?????

what price were people paying for slit screen kombi's 10 years ago compared to now?

BrisDubba - October 20th, 2007 at 04:20 AM

Like I said it may be worth something to someone but given that I have had four of them and know of a dozen others I am fairly familar with whats involved in the resto and what would need replacing - I think it is expensive.. just my opinion.

DEAR BRISDUBBA
you haven't seen it in person now have you? come & see it then make your judgements, I don't get on this forum & bag other peoples cars for sale.

I have bee told it is pretty good.
I'm getting a lot of enquiries, many want parts! no way!! even with what $$$ front & rear ends are bringing.

how many are for sale at the moment?
how many are available if/when you want to buy one?
how many are perfect??? they were nearly all farm / bush cars................

Brisdubba, you say you HAD 4 in the past, past is past things do go up in price you know, maybe your jealous you can't afford it & now don't have one, because you sold yours too cheap LOL!!!!!!!!!!

just look at monaros & Landau coupes, I've HAD both in the PAST..both I restored, both were fair back then 12yrs ago, now they are 15+k for something worse & thats the way it goes.

old cars are just that... old........no matter what you are into anything classic will need work,
REMEMBER> THEY AREN'T MAKING ANYMORE OF THEM..

YOU STARTED THIS TOPIC NOT ME, I EXPECTED A BIT OF COURTESY, BUT MAYBE THATS TOO MUCH TO ASK.

miss Charmaine.

i recon its a bargain man id buy today if i had the coin ,friging bargain you can see its pretty good and yeah how many listings for cb,s forsale

BrisDubba - October 20th, 2007 at 11:09 AM

Miss Charmaine and others,

Firstly I listed the link to help forum people in case someone hadnt seen it, not knowing that it belonged to someone on here - usually people list things here for sale first, unless they are a get rich quick scheme and good luck to you if that is the case.

If it had been listed here then no way would I have mentioned my opinion of the price even though it was hardly a slaying and afterall we are still in Australia.

As for the rest of the comments, as tempting as it is, I will let it slide otherthan to say I still have one.

Good luck with the sale.

I'd hardly call a $3500 car "a get rich quick scheme"
it's not an auction 28 days is a great amount of time for buyers view the car with no reserves etc.

last time I listed a bug on ebay I had it on here also, & somene was kind enough to add a link to it.
from what I've seen everyone on here goes on ebay anyway............................

anyway thanks for putting it on here but, it would have been nice for you to not be so negative & let the potential buyers make up their own mind. I wouldn't do it to you wether you were a member here or not.

it is a hard enough descision to be selling as it is .....but with 7 classics cars etc,etc..something has to give due to our purchase of a second farm. & this won't be the only car being sold..............

miss Charmaine.

ponybeetle,
Did your CB sell on eBay?
I see the listing page states, "The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."
If it did sell. did it stay in Australia, or did it go elsewhere?

Steve
