NSW rego without bumpers?
OberonViking - November 4th, 2008 at 11:52 AM

Can you pass a NSW rego without any form of bumper on a beetle? I just personally like the look of them bumperless.

Are you talking about just re-registering your car (pink slip) every year, or getting it registered for the first time after building it (blue slip).

If its the later, I would think not.

Sorry, but just my thoughts.

as kev already said if ur going for a bluey u wont have much love but pinks are usually ok depending on the inspector

no bumpers is ok but Tbars is abit of a no-no
ive got T bars on my bug atm till i get a chance to respray my bumpers and ive already been chipped once and its only been out of the garage twice
but then again same cop made me take eyebrows off to

The T bars may see you receive a nasty little note asking you pay $228.00 to the State Revenue Agency. Same as rod holders on 4wds. If you get it passed or whatever you still have to go under the radar on the streets.

YES

Protrusions that may endanger a pedestrian are banned

that is on all registrations Now...

So, I'd reather be hit by a bumperless beetle
and just land on the bonnet...

than hit the bumper and break a leg or something..

the T bars look dangerous to Me..

and when some one parks near You and keeps going till they hit the bumper...
and you have NO bumper.. YIKES...

and they have a tow bar... even worse..

Lee

PS: maybe they will ban beetle bumpers as they are too far from the body of the car.. lol

Have a look at the ADR's that are on your compliance plate, some of the later vehicles have a progressive crumble rate, when they went to the wide & high bumper bar there was a standard height & I think there was a crush rate involved on some models.
