1963 DC Ute "Leo"
splitbusaustralia - March 14th, 2009 at 07:39 AM

Greetings All,

My 63 twin cab 'Leo' is up for sale at $32k.

Type IV engine, IRS'ed, dropped spindles, bay disc brakes.

Winner DOVW best modified split 2005 and 2006. Runner up 2007 (but I did drive him there!), didn't enter judging last year (probably would have struggled against some nice splits newer on the scene though).

He has got a few small things that need doing now, but is in very good/excellent condition.

If you're seriously interested drop me a pm and I'll pass on my contact details (I generally hate selling cars and do struggle a bit with the tyre kicker thing…).

I'm in Geelong Victoria.

regards

RobK

Well Leo for the last fews days has had a major overhaul.
Picked him back up today. Just like to thank Mick & the team at AVWPC. Very easy to deal with.
You forget how good it feels to have that smile on your face when driving them.
People stop & chat. Take photos, chat etc ... but always the best one's are: "It looks good chopped down" or "Custom ute" or "Did they build them like that?" etc etc ... I just tell them it used to be a Single Cab & I upgraded it :P

Not finished needs a petrol flap do you need one?

Was it removed to colour match or did you match by code?
and does it match as well as it looks?

Hey Mitch,
No
Yes
No
No
Mate from a distance the colour looks great. It has been very hard to match. The inside is a little darker but I'm leaving it as it will get very hot in there & fade a bit.
The outside has been done 3-4 times. Everytime it hardens & you get that perfect shine it drys a different colour. Matty the guy doing it is fussy (like me).
He is doing a coat tomorrow... then he is going to wet sand it back... take off some shine & buff it... it will come out close but not 100%.

Cheers Scotty... thats it... I'm done (maybe)

OK... Gates done & dusted finally. 3-4 goes with trying to match the paint colour... Not perfect but the next best thing.
