so, forget selling.. seems like it was "too hard" to restore so I'll do it....budget build mind you, I'm trying to salvage all parts that are
useable....
Cleaned up the donk with a 1641 kit, sonic cleaned the carbs and rebuilt, blasted all tinware, new seals etc etc....
I love oven cleaner... works a treat....
Next is sorting out the one piece window kits it came with...yeah yeah, I hear ya all but I'll sort it out and if I don't get it right you can all
bag me out. Just don't start bagging yet ok.
I had a spare EJ 22 but I'll do air first then maybe in future will do the swap.....
stay tuned...
If I had the cash laying around here, I would have bought that in a heart-beat.
I like air-cooled type 3's but in a semi custom car I think a Subaru would be a heck of a lot more fun in a car like this.
One-piece glass in this car is a bit ??? but done well, they would look nice.

PS - I already know I am an opinionated little bastard but that is just me and I can't really change that.
played around with grits n sanding n wet n dry to get a ratrod effect..... rear panel gunned with 3 coats of clear lacquer and door is as is before prep n lacquer... it looks ways better in the flesh, pics don't do the finish justice....
had to remove it ... easier to work on and can see what I'm top for
How did the oven cleaner go?
Awesome Binner. Glad you're working on it.
As I've said previously, I would have gladly taken it on but for distance, time, cash (all totally solvable) and the Boss saying "not until you get
rid of some that you've already got!" (Not so solvable!)
I can't wait to see the end results. Hopefully in the flesh one day.
