I know about Beetles but not Type 3's. My son has looked at late model squares and they have a lap belt in the middle of the back seat. Question is, are notches the same and is there any difference between early and late Type 3's relating to the number of seat belts fitted as standard

I've got a 1972 Type3 Fastback and it's a 5 seat ...... seen earlier models and they are also 5 seat but as to early early ones ????? guess would be 5 seats and checking of compliance plate would confirm.

dont forget us panelvan owners..................mine is registered as a wagon because they dont know panelvans exist but in seating capacity is says 2...............amazed they got that correct

Late model Notches are definitely 5 seat capacity. Most earlies I've seen have a centre belt.
