Getting ready to lower Gwendoline..
jo_tas - September 6th, 2007 at 07:54 PM

Repainted the standard skinny wheels today in preparation for lowering her (which will hopefully happen soon)
Decided to take some pics for the heck of it!
I plan to go 2 inner splines in the front and 1 inner on the back (probably)
The skinny wheels makes it look like she has a narrowed beam! :P

Hey Josie let us know where and when - especially if it is during the next two weeks (school hols) would be a willing helping hand and perhaps learn a thing or two and maybe tackle mine.

Guys, dont know if you have seen it but if you go into YouTube and put in Type 3 and maybe fastback there is about 3-4 long film clips which show how to lower your suspension. Makes sense of black and white paper versions which I struggle with.

jo_tas - September 6th, 2007 at 10:26 PM

Yep thanks GTMac i've watched them over and over!

Matt.. if you have a spare bit of shed space... some tools (including a 30mm socket) and a couple of jackstands and a trolley jack.. we're in business! If i can use the space to lower mine, i'll be glad to help you lower yours! :D

Hey Josie - would love you to lower mine like we discussed... Could you please PM me your phone number as I'm not using the other forum any longer and can't find that scrap of paper where I wrote your number down... Also seem to have forgotten my password on here, so have been re-born simply as tara...

Love the pics and also the write up in VWAT mag for the month! You are a star and so is Gwendoline!

Tara

Hey Tara... good to hear from you!

I've sent you a PM

Jose I do have space - just have to put the bug out. I don't yet have jack stands or trolley jack but am planning to purchase them in the near future. After crawling around under mind with minimal space have decided they are a must have.

Will PM you with a possible day. Are weekends best for you?

kombimatt Two weeks holidays damn teachers ( I'm one Too ) Its not enough !! Cheers Matt

kombimatt - September 7th, 2007 at 11:27 PM

I'm with you mate - two weeks is just enough to get wound down and seriously into something and then its time to go back.

I have a new interior to put in the Fasty but this combined with keeping four little uns happy during their break will take up most of my time I reckon.

I see you are in Bundy not hols for you yet?

Hey Matt
At the moment looks like i'll be doing it at Tara's place. Still waiting on a call from her.
I'm sure you'll be welcome to come and watch (and help) and then i'll come and help you do it at your place! (If you want)
Also, if you need a hand with that interior, i've had to gut mine and put it all back in before.. so just let me know if you need a hand.
I'm still out of work at the moment so any time is good for me.. and working on cars helps keep me from getting bored!

I'll be in it for sure. Let me know when it is happening.

Interior is going in slowly - got to get a leak sorted around my air box. See other thread entitled air box
