Bosch or NGK only
I'm not much into non-stock engines but for what it's worth I use the above at 25 thou gaps. I had a bad scene many years ago with
Champions stripping 2 plug holes so I haven't touched then since.

Champion plugs have cut threads whereas Bosch and NGK have rolled threads. The factory used to use Bosch, mex beetles use NGK. Either or either,
just not champion Or if u can find it go for Beru.

Was once advised by my uncle who was heavily into buggies in the 70's in Brissie, testing all the new parts coming in, that Beru are the only
plugs he would use. Can't remember the reason but he is an aviation engineer playing with jet engines so i believed him. |

Champion plugs have half a thread extra in length and when installed that thread gets filled with carbon deposits from the engine.
when you try to undo the plug the extra carbon is harder than the alloy in the cylinder head and therefore cuts into the spark plug thread
and causes it to be cut away or stripped.
Use only Bosch or Beru plus in your air cooled VW engines for best results.

I've been using the Beru plugs for some time, on reccomendation - never had a problem. They are German made as I recall.
