Headlight seals 67 bug

Hi
Does anyone know if the headlight seals to body on a 67 Aussie beetle are different to seals for 65-67 beetle? The new ones seem a bit thicker (yes I know they are new...) and there doesn't seem to be enough room to 'hang' the headlight on the lip at the top - if they are different which year should I buy? I'm confused as to what parts I should get sometimes since the Aussie 67 is not the same as a European 67 :starhit:
Thanks in advance
Wendy

Aussie 67 takes the >64 US/Euro seal. Basically the sloped headlight type doesn't change seals.

Your problem may be the quality of the seal.

You can get these from either Das Resto Haus or VVDS; both the suppliers have top quality goods

The lip may be squashed on the guard that the seal fits into

Thanks guys - the place I got them usually does good quality stuff it seemed more like the old ones were a bit narrower and therefore left more room between the seal and the lip - I'll do the other headlight tomorrow and see if the problem is the lip or the seal I didn't think of that - they were 65-67 seals though so if not the lip I'll order some more earlier ones thanks for the links
Your advise very appreciated thank you :)

Speaking of the lip, often there is such a build up of excess paint from not being taken back to bare metal during repair that there is no room left for the seal.

Don't think the paint has been touched there but could be wrong I gave it a good clean...I'll check again - but I tried the other headlight seal and that worked okay so will dig around and see if I can pull the lip back a bit on the problem side too hot to do much other than lie around today :)
