Sydney VW Drags Showdown 2013

Volkswagen drag racing returns to Sydney Dragway on June 29th 2013.

After a successful debut on the 1/4 mile, Sydney Dragway had no hesitation inviting the VWs back for another year. Sydney will be Round 1 in the 2013 series and Round 2 will be VW Warwick on October 5-6th.

Sydney Dragway is a quarter mile track allowing the Volksies to stretch their legs a little further and enjoy the privilege of competing on a world class international track.

This event is a dial-your-own competition, allowing everyone from novice racer in their stock street registered vehicle to all-out drag cars to run at their own pace. It's not always the fastest that wins, but rather consistency and a good light.

The 2013 series is supported by Australian and International businesses who understand and value the need for Volkswagen drag racing in this country.

Thanks to these businesses the series is able to be run each year.

Is the event still on? Another week of rain leading up to the event, several bucket loads forecast for tomorrow.

I am registered, not sure how keen I am at the moment though.

As hellbugged stated it is still on, but as per usual you cant rely on the weather forecasters.

Depending on which site you look at, one says 90% of rain at 9am and another one says showers passing, mostly cloudy.

So for a better idea on the weather for tomorrow, I think it's best to just stick your head out the window about 8am.

I just feel sorry for any that are already traveling some distances.

Kev

P.S. I hope it's F'n on :yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:

I thought rebuilding a VW would be cheap - Shit I was wrong, just don't let the wife know !!!!
