VSB14 info please
Gday all.
OK, I give up, my Google-fu is lacking here.
I've spent 3 days trying to find the VSB14 section that deals with front and rear bumpers, and bodywork "trimming" and it's effects on things like
exhaust sticking out , if there is a requirement for cages over what and so on.
Basically I want to yank off the bumpers (then use "nudge" bars or something) and trim the rear bodywork (no more than 6" up) on my 73 Super, but
can't find the VSB14 guidelines applicable. The local Transport people are as useful as tits on a bull, 3 engineers told me to check VSB14 but they
don't know the sections and the inspectors want to go home at 5
o'clock (can't say I blame them).
Can anybody help please?
I honestly thought it wouldn't be the slightest issue........

I've got a link somewhere dude and will forward it (downloaded the entire ncop too)
The thing that frustrates the hell out of me regarding the ncop (national code of practice) for modified vehicles is that its a guide only, left for
interpretation and applied differently from state to state.
Still a long way till we end up with a true national standard, although even that will be driven by the new car manufacturers strangle hold on
bureaucrats in this country. Rant over for now...

Don't stop ranting Reub! Hell I thought I was the only one driving around in a standard Commode (well, the wife's!) because I'd had a gutful. I
once got a yellow sticker for a chrome aircleaner.........on a standard '63 Valiant.
I don't want a full Baja, I want something like my old '63 (in my avatar), I just like the styling lines, nothing else like it in the auto world.
Lowered an inch or two (not 6 like the old hotrod!), the Baja-look nose is stock steel designed-in on the Superbug (I rekn they did it to try to cash
in on the late-60s Baja/offroad fad), and trimmed rear valance up to the engine lid (a gentle curve, opposite curve to the engine lid), then put tube
nudge bars front and rear.
If you have a copy of NCOP for the bumpers/bodywork, that would be cool as. I've already printed the bits out for the wheels/tyres, suspension
height, seats/mountings, etc.
Thanks very much man.

Here's the NCOP link
NCOP link
Oz is very annoying for vehicle mods as a lot of the supposed 'engineers' are nothing more than glorified boiler makers and soooooooooooo many
things that are TUV approved say, much more stringent than ADR, aren't allowed here cos the engineers don't understand basic mechanical
engineering.
Anyway, that's my rant over too.

Gday all.
Thanks for the link, all downloaded, all read through..........
......and not a damn thing about removing or replacing bumpers on older cars!
There was a section devoted to "nudge bars", so I'll take it in mind and call my new bunny bouncers that I rekn, and just wing it.

He's an exception but almost semi-retired and very busy these days.
Only managed to find one other engineer on the southside of Brissy that seems any good but I was mainly refering to how antiquated the ADR seems to be
in many aspects. Mods that are legal in many other countries with better vehicle regs than here and they aren't allowed here. Just a gripe I have
with the ADR dude

Each state should have a mods rules too. I know QLD have one and in depth mods point to the ADR which mainly points to the NCOP BUT the ADR does have
differences to the NCOP but I've looked fruitlessly for a downloadable 3 edition of the ADR so presume only a vehicle engineer has access to such
things?
