The Next Evolution
Thought I might start a post about the next evolution of my club car. Hopefully it will give me some motivation to get going!
I bought the 1303 in 2000 to get me to uni and raced it in club motorsport for about 7 years, 2 engines, 1 gear box, 4 guards, one nose and alot of
other parts later. Events included, pretty much anything the beetle could enter without a cage, including motorkhana, kahancross, autocross,
hillclimb, sprints, navigation runs, and non speed closed rally's. I had a ball flogging the car for so many years all over SE Qld.
In 2007 the last mild 1776 died and a new engine was installed. A 1999cc, wedge ported, 48 IDA, mildish cam motor. Dyno'd to produce in early state
of tune 130 atw hp.
Other mods to car as it rolls include
Vforce race spec struts (will get these softened and revalved soon)
Type 3 torsion bars
Super diff, HD side plates, 1.44 3rd gear and rebuilt GB
6 inch front and 7 inch rear steel rims with 195 and 205 semi's
cobra suzuka drivers seat
relocated small battery
Other than that, the brakes are stock, and pretty much everything else is worn 1303 superbug.
Just after the motor went in, family and career kicked in the car has done one event in 6 years. After the last 3 years overseas for work, its time to
start the next evolution.
Will update some picks and plans soon....
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!

Well a few pics from when I first got the car and started racing. Seem to be missing so many pictures, with laptops dying over the years. Will need to
call a few people I think.
but first ever event, in a bog stock 1303, with one front shock with no oil. Khanacross with the fiat car club.
Hillclimb, yes Sides my car has raced, just before you moved north of the border!
With the rest of the Audi/VW team from the qld inter club challenge. Guys old A4 is is there, plus a good mates Evo8.
My favourite event, autocross
and finally a non speed (really!) road rally

First round of the IWMAC Autocross series is this Sunday. I'll be running my 1303 Super. I'd love to have some VW competition!
Cheers.
