Leaking 44idfs. Pourous?
Does anyone have any ideas to help me out here, this is the second one to do it and swapped it for another from where i got it from.
This is what happened
i have had one of my carby tops off and filled the fuel bowl with fuel. with in 15 - 20 minutes with out having run the car, the fuel bowl is empty.
what i noticed is that fuel is dripping from the throttle shaft out in to the engine bay afer i squirted the throttle and fuel jetted onto the
butterfly. i believe this was leaking prior to squirting the pump
i then left it, no more fuel coming out of the pump jet. so still have 7/8ths of fuel in bowl, well i did have. fuel was still pouring out after that.
question is how does this happen. seems as though the carby is pourous.
i might just have to return it from where i got it.

I've seen that exact problem with Empi HPMX's, once the venturi was removed I found cracks through the fuel bowl wall into the choke, but under the
venturi. Sounds similar so definately worth a look. Leaking externally is usually accelerator pump diaphram cracked or not sealing.

Well got a replacement set off Rod Penrose, they're a set of Decade 44's. Got them running with 200 airs 55 idles and 135 mains, wow what a carby,
they look solid too. They come out of jbugs if you want a look. Same setup as a weber except for some minor bits.
